Role and Responsibilities:
As a Distribution Clerk, you will perform mail handling and distribution tasks to support efficient mail flow throughout postal operations.
- Sort incoming and outgoing mail using manual and automated methods
- Distribute mail to appropriate departments or delivery routes
- Scan and process packages accurately for tracking and delivery
- Assist in loading and unloading mail trucks
- Operate mail-sorting machines and related equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace in compliance with safety protocols
- Verify address information and ensure proper postage has been applied
Required Skills and Experience:
- Ability to lift heavy mail containers and stand for extended periods
- Basic computer and scanning device proficiency
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a mailroom, warehouse, or logistics environment
- Familiarity with USPS operations or procedures
