Assistant General Manager

Job Description:

Partnering closely with the Bakery Manager, the Assistant Bakery Manager at Nothing Bundt Cakes (NbC) aids in the creation of premium cakes, fosters a friendly environment, and enhances the overall guest experience. They share in team leadership responsibilities and work alongside the Bakery Manager to drive sales and profitability, manage daily tasks, and ensure that all bakery operations align with NbC standards. This role serves as a key ambassador of the NbC culture, reinforcing fundamental principles, and embodying the brand for both staff and customers.

Accountabilities/Duties:

• Places great importance on guest satisfaction, showcases superior guest interactions, and fosters a welcoming work environment.
• Collaborates with the Bakery Manager to lead the complete guest journey, cake making process, brand and product presentation, workplace environment, and inventory supervision.
• Assists in recruiting, selecting, and training team members, overseeing daily operations, and providing performance evaluations and guidance with guidance from the Bakery Manager.
• Maintains consistency in the standards of NbC products, services, bakery ambiance, and visual displays, while overseeing that all bakery procedures are in line with food safety standards and NbC guidelines.
• Collaborates with the Bakery Manager to execute operational and administrative tasks, including planning cake production, setting productivity goals, organizing team schedules, procuring supplies, analyzing sales and labor data, maintaining basic accounting records, managing expenses, and processing payroll.
• Collaborates in the oversight of tailored request fulfillment through online portals and email communication for individual patrons and corporate clients, as well as large-scale, intricate order requirements.
• Participates in managing the bakery's opening and closing processes, which consist of activities like balancing the cash register and completing bank deposits.
• Supports the execution of marketing strategies in the community by coordinating and actively participating in events designed to promote the brand.
• Maintains a practical grasp of all bakery duties and is willing to take on different responsibilities as dictated by business needs.

Satisfying the educational, certification, and work experience prerequisites is mandatory:

• The essential qualifications include a high school diploma or GED; any additional post-secondary education is seen as valuable.
• 1-3 years of guest-facing experience in a retail, restaurant or food service environment, preferably in a lead role with progressive managerial responsibilities.
• Proved competence in building a superior guest experience and mentoring others to do so, onboarding new team members, supervising the tasks of others, and achieving productivity targets.
• Adeptness in the fundamental functions of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, alongside a proclivity for acquiring proficiency in emerging technologies.

Work Availability:

It is important to be open to working varying shifts, such as early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, in accordance with the shifting dynamics of the business.

• Hours of Work: The Manager position is a full-time position and operates within the normal business hours of Nothing Bundt Cakes and might also requires work outside of such normal business hours, as the job duties demand. The salaried position requires a minimum of 42 hours worked per week during non-holiday weeks and all months excluding November and December. Any week leading up to and including holidays require a minimum of 55 hours per week in-bakery at any location in need of additional support. Work on Saturdays is required when necessary, primarily during holiday weeks.
