Role and Responsibilities:
As a Postal Route Carrier, you will play a key role in ensuring consistent and accurate mail delivery along designated routes. This position requires reliability, attention to detail, and a strong sense of duty to the community.
- Sort and prepare mail for delivery by route and address
- Deliver letters, packages, and parcels to residential and business addresses on a scheduled route
- Collect outgoing mail from collection boxes and customers
- Obtain recipient signatures for registered or certified mail as required
- Operate a USPS-provided vehicle safely along assigned routes
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and undelivered items
- Report hazardous conditions or irregularities in routes or deliveries
- Provide customer service and answer inquiries related to mail delivery
Required Skills and Experience:
- Valid state driver�s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to follow maps and delivery instructions accurately
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in delivery services or logistics
- Familiarity with handheld delivery tracking devices
- Basic customer service experience
