But first... what is a Sandwich Artist The Sandwich Artist is the face of our brand. They are responsible for greeting and serving guests, preparing food, maintaining food safety and sanitation standards, and handling light paperwork. Exceptional customer service is a fundamental of this position.
OPPORTUNITIES FOR GROWTH:
People showing business intelligence, a keen interest in learning, and capability in managing tasks will be examined for managerial posts and opportunities in the corporate sector.
PREREQUISITES:
Education: Meeting the requirements for a high school degree or its similar credential.
Experience & Skills: There is no need for previous experience, but candidates must exhibit a proven ability to understand instructions given in both written and verbal forms.
Physical: Must be able to work any area of the restaurant when needed and to operate a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. Position requires bending, standing, and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Shows a cheerful and engaging presence when greeting customers and organizing their orders with care.
- Displays a solid knowledge of the menu items and explains them precisely to patrons.
- Operates a Point of Sale system or cash register to input the order and determine the total bill amount. Receives payment from patrons and dispenses change as needed.
- The process entails accounting for cash, checks, and other monetary items collected throughout the working hours.
- Cooks food with precision, following the designated formula, and in a timely fashion.
- Inspects the items in the sandwich unit area and refills them as necessary to guarantee a sufficient quantity during the shift.
- Understands and observes the appropriate protocols for food handling, safety, and sanitation while cooking, serving, and completing post-meal clean-up.
- Adheres to the 3-step cleaning process to sustain the cleanliness and hygiene standards of the restaurant.
- Displays comprehension and adherence to the quality benchmarks, formulas, and procedures outlined in the SUBWAY® Operations Manual.
- Abides by the guidelines for maintaining a professional appearance and grooming as set forth in the SUBWAY® Operations Manual.
- Handles light paperwork responsibilities as delegated.
- Successfully fulfills the University of SUBWAY® program requirements.
