Role and Responsibilities:
As a Package Sorting Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring packages are accurately sorted, labeled, and routed for delivery in a fast-paced environment. You will contribute to the smooth flow of mail and packages through USPS facilities.
- Sort incoming packages based on delivery routes and destination zones
- Verify package labels for accuracy and completeness
- Operate mail sorting machines and equipment safely and efficiently
- Lift and move packages to appropriate staging or dispatch areas
- Monitor and report any damaged or misrouted packages
- Maintain a clean, organized work area in compliance with safety standards
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily processing goals
Required Skills and Experience:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift packages up to 70 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in sorting and labeling
- Familiarity with scanning devices and sorting systems
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team setting
- Strong time management and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in warehouse, logistics, or package handling roles
- Familiarity with USPS processes or similar mail sorting operations
